without compromising your values.

• Content and function: Music generation, adult/explicit content, gambling, card games, chess, and backgammon, tattoo design tools, metaverse/virtual-world platforms, astrology and fortune-telling, AI avatars or any imagery generation of living beings — human or animal (headshots, presenters, deepfakes, face-swap, lip-sync, pet portraits), and tools built specifically around analyzing or editing photos of people or animals (e.g. face-focused photo culling or portrait-only editors) rather than general-purpose photography. This applies when it's the tool's primary purpose or a prominently marketed feature — a general creative or editing platform isn't excluded just because it includes this as one feature among many.
• Deception and privacy: Tools built around impersonation or fabricated identities, voice cloning, AI dubbing that replaces a real speaker's voice with a synthesized one, companion or romantic chatbots, and tools that bulk-collect personal data about other people without consent. As above, this applies when it's the primary purpose or a prominently marketed feature, not any general tool that happens to include it among many others.
• Islamic finance: Interest-based (riba) financial products, conventional insurance, and conventional stock trading/investing tools.
• Religious guidance: Apps that answer Islamic questions or give fatwas — AI does not replace the people of knowledge.
• Trust and safety: Tools with serious, documented security risks, and tools marketed around helping students bypass academic-integrity detection or replacing a doctor/lawyer outright.

Also worth knowing: Not every tool left out of this catalog was excluded for religious reasons. Some were dropped for other reasons — made by an Israeli company, the product turned out to be discontinued, a duplicate of another entry, or not actually AI-powered.
